GUZXP 3.0 — LAUNCH EDITION
Track. Complete. Rise.

INSTALL
Open GuzXP-Setup.exe. Choose whether to create a Desktop shortcut and start
GuzXP with Windows, then click Install. Installation is for your Windows
account and does not need administrator rights.
Click Open GuzXP and sign in once. The app remembers the session using
Windows encryption. Your password is never stored on this PC.

PORTABLE VERSION
Extract GuzXP-Windows.zip and open GuzXP.exe. No Python is needed.
Use the installer if you want a Desktop shortcut and Windows Apps entry.

GAME DETECTION
GuzXP detects running games installed through Steam and Epic. Detected games
can be added automatically to your account library. You can also choose
Detect installed games to import selected games in advance.
For other launchers or standalone games, add the game to your library and
use Preferences > Link another game executable to choose its main .exe.
Detection checks every five seconds. Tracks one game at a time, giving
priority to the foreground game. It counts while the game process runs,
including menus; it does not measure keyboard/mouse activity.
Sleep/hibernation gaps are not counted. No keystrokes or screenshots are read.
Executable paths stay on this PC. Only game titles and play-time batches sync.

CLOSING AND STARTUP
Closing the window keeps GuzXP in the Windows system tray by default.
Click the GuzXP tray icon to open it. Right-click for pause/resume or Quit.
Tracking works only while GuzXP is running and you are signed in.
Preferences lets you turn detection, auto-add, tray behaviour and startup
on or off. After startup, the app stays quietly in the tray.

PLAY-TIME SYNC
Time is synced in short batches. Unsynced batches are saved locally and
retried automatically for the same account. Retries do not double-count.
Quit or pause tracking before changing accounts. Signing out stops tracking.
If you lose internet, existing recognized library games can still accrue
time; newly discovered games need a connection before they can be added.

YOUR LIBRARY
Cards and List views are available. Click Mark completed to finish a game
and set today's completion date. Edit lets you change it later.
Find game artwork searches Steam's game library. Auto-detected Steam games
link artwork automatically. Missing artwork uses a GuzXP title card.
Use image from PC adds your own cover/logo for any game; custom artwork
stays on this PC. Steam artwork selections sync with your catalogue.
CSV export includes artwork IDs and horror flags. Older GuzXP CSVs import too.
Importing the same CSV twice creates duplicates.

HALLOWEEN: NIGHTFALL — 2026
Starts when this release goes live; ends at the end of 31 October (UK time).
10 XP per hour of new automatic play-time tracking.
20 XP per hour for games marked Horror. No completion XP bonus.
Existing hours and manual edits do not earn seasonal XP. Horror classification
affects future tracked time. Known horror titles are suggested automatically;
check the Horror box when needed. Fractions of XP accumulate continuously.
The Halloween leaderboard is separate from all-time hours/completions.
Standings are based on client-reported tracking, not anti-cheat verification.

SOUNDS
The new audio is original synthetic audio with a classic survival-horror feel.
It does not contain Resident Evil samples. Sounds and animations can be
turned off in Preferences.

WEB APP
https://85.190.108.158.nip.io
Same account, same catalogue, artwork and leaderboards. Game detection
requires the Windows app; a browser cannot inspect running PC games.

DATA
App installs under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\GuzXP.
Preferences, encrypted session, cached artwork, executable links and pending
play-time batches live under %LOCALAPPDATA%\GuzXP.
Your account catalogue is on the Ubuntu server. Passwords are salted scrypt
hashes. Your games and notes are private; usernames and leaderboard totals
are visible to signed-in players.
To uninstall, quit GuzXP from its tray icon, then use Windows Apps settings.
Uninstalling keeps local preferences/pending time and your server account.

The executable is unsigned. Self-service password recovery and account
deletion are not yet included. Existing accounts and catalogues still work.
